How to make spicy homemade ketchup
A yummy spiced ketchup that exceeds store-bought ketchup in both flavor and texture!
- 28oz fresh tomatoes
- half an onion
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp cayenne
- 1/2 tsp dry mustard
- 1/2 tsp allspice
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp cloves
- Cook down tomatoes until tender, blend.
- Add spices and onion, cook down.
- Blend again.
- Cook down again, if necessary.
- Keep in sanitized jar.
You can totally make this without using added sugars if you have very ripe tomatoes.
