How to make spicy homemade ketchup

A yummy spiced ketchup that exceeds store-bought ketchup in both flavor and texture!

  • 28oz fresh tomatoes
  • half an onion
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne
  • 1/2 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp allspice
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp cloves


  1. Cook down tomatoes until tender, blend.
  2. Add spices and onion, cook down.
  3. Blend again.
  4. Cook down again, if necessary.
  5. Keep in sanitized jar.


You can totally make this without using added sugars if you have very ripe tomatoes.
